WPC waterproofing: Protection for innovative materials

WPC stands for “Wood Plastic Composite”. These innovative materials have become increasingly popular in recent years. They stand for high precision machinability, low bulk density and a natural look and feel. WPC boards are made from sawdust and synthetic resin. They are available as complex shaped pre-products, for example as structured tongue and groove boards. In addition, WPC boards are also available as panels and blocks for your own design.

The waterproofing is the ideal protection of WPC and other wood fibre products against penetrating moisture. The moisture is effectively kept outside by the nano coating. However, residual moisture on the inside can evaporate due to the open-pored structure of nano coating. The waterproofing gives the WPC boards a self-cleaning surface. Impregnating WPC boards

The nano coating of waterproofing is suitable for WPC boards, chipboards and wood fibre boards. It makes the materials weatherproof and protects them permanently against moisture penetration.

As a coating it is colour-neutral, transparent and almost invisible. The surface darkens only a little, more is not to be seen from the nano coating. Regularly renewed, it can protect even heavily used products made of wood fibres permanently against penetrating moisture. This makes it an effective waterproofing for all areas of horticulture, stable construction or for the front garden.

The sustainable protection of waterproofing is also suitable for many areas in vehicle and model construction. A wooden model provided with this protection retains its intended technical properties in all weather conditions. Trailers, mobile homes and caravans are much easier to maintain with this nano coating. Especially the self-cleaning properties due to the lotus effect are very advantageous for campers.

The poorly accessible upper areas of the side walls and the roof can be easily cleaned with a garden hose thanks to the nano sealing.

Functionality of the WPC waterproofing

The waterproofing is applied to the cleaned substrate. Then allow it to dry and cure. The curing time is approx. 1 day. During this time, do not mechanically stress the surfaces. This applies especially to decking boards, which must not be walked on during this time. After curing, the surface is fully loadable and permanently protected against moisture penetration.
Apply the waterproofing undiluted with a sponge or a sprayer. After drying, the nano coating becomes invisible.
Wear a mouth guard, eye protection and long-sleeved clothing when applying waterproofing, which can be disposed of afterwards. The waterproofing is completely non-toxic and ecologically harmless. However, it can cause allergic reactions. With a comprehensive protective clothing they exclude any individual danger when processing the nano coating sustainably.

These questions are frequently asked on the subject of WPC waterproofing.

In all products of nanoCare the now banned corridor compounds have been replaced by harmless silicon oxide. Silicon is basically just finely ground sand.
The nano coating is applied with a sponge or spread with a sprayer. When doing so, respiratory protection is recommended to rule out allergic reactions as well.
The nano coating has a milky-white colour. After drying, however, it becomes clear and invisible. Products treated with waterproofing darken slightly, but retain their beautiful texture and surface.
The nano coating lasts between 6 months and a year. However, it depends on the amount of use. A normally used patio should be resealed at the beginning and end of the gardening season. For heavily used areas, you should install additional protection, such as artificial grass.
