High-quality waterproofing with nanoCare

waterproofingen in everyday life? They usually come to mind when it’s too late. In rain, storm and sleet. When your clothes, boots and jackets are soaking wet. If you are one of those nature lovers, you are probably even more familiar with this topic. If you’ve been looking forward to your camping holiday for months, you’re hoping for good weather with plenty of sunshine. If it rains for days on end during your well-deserved holiday, life in the tent becomes a nuisance. Especially when it rains through in some places in the tent

Let the frustration roll off

The motto is to take precautions in good time. Experienced campers take great care to ensure that their canvas villa is freshly waterproofed before departure and check the result before starting their holiday. They pitch the tent in the garden or in the courtyard and check it during a country rain or under the garden hose. Once the impregnated fabric has passed the endurance test to their satisfaction, the tent is thoroughly dried before being neatly folded and stored in the boot.

Basically everyone knows that the topic waterproofing plays an important role in all outdoor activities. Hiking boots, jackets and backpacks have to be waterproof so that you don’t have to depend on the weather gods on longer tours. Cyclists, climbers and anglers place similar demands on their clothing and equipment.

waterproofing en for big city Indians

Even if you rarely leave the big city, you probably use waterproofed things more often than you realize. Textile shoes or leather boots that you wear to the office or in the evening on your way to the cinema or disco should be largely waterproof. Who wants to sit out for hours with wet shoes and socks and risk catching a cold?

Umbrella, anorak, school satchel or backpack – these and many other items we use day after day are made of materials that are water-permeable in their original state. To keep moisture and dirt out, they are in most cases already impregnated by the manufacturer. Externally, this layer is hardly noticeable. Through daily use and regular cleaning, the protective layer gradually becomes thinner, shows gaps and is thus ineffective.

What you get? Quality like dry cloths

Jackets for the way to the office or to university are often impregnated by the manufacturer. The water-repellent layer is indispensable for functional clothing for various outdoor activities: trekking, hiking or mountaineering.

If the jacket or trousers are permanently impregnated, they cannot become waterlogged even in heavy rain. The clothing remains light, warm and always offers the necessary freedom of movement.

High-quality clothing is provided with DWRwaterproofingby the manufacturer. DWR is the abbreviation for ‘durable water repellent’. Unfortunately, even such a high-quality waterproofing is not as durable as the name promises. Your textile will be as water repellent as on the first day with nanoCare.

Your advantages at a glance

The leather shoe is a classic. Leather demonstrates a sense of style and is very hard-wearing. The disadvantage: leather is naturally water-permeable, in fact it even attracts water (hydrophilic). If leather is tanned, not all pores are sealed. Especially with shoes, it’s all about breathability. An advantage that becomes a nuisance in wind and weather. The waterproofing gives leather a water-repellent function. Hydrophilic becomes hydrophobic. When it rains, spherical drops form and the water rolls off.

  • Leather becomes water-repellent, waterproofingen are invaluable, especially with suede.
  • Water is often also a carrier of dirt, impurities do not penetrate into the leather after a waterproofing
  • The impregnation preserves the color and extends the durability of the leather

Everything tight up there?

If you are the proud owner of a convertible, you should include the protective roof of your vehicle in your regular maintenance. Whether the roof should be impregnated at certain intervals depends on the material used. Modern convertible tops are made of plastics that can withstand a trip through the automatic car wash without any problems.

The use of high-pressure jets is taboo. Instead, you should clean the roof by hand with a soft brush if there is bird droppings or other aggressive dirt to be removed. Textile canopies must be re-impregnated from time to time.

Water fight and rain run

More and more people are wearing shoes made of textile materials for sport, leisure and everyday wear. These shoes have excellent performance characteristics, but must be carefully impregnated to make them waterproof from the outside. At the same time, breathability must be guaranteed so that perspiration is reliably transported away. To solve this conflict, membranes have been developed with which many shoe models are already equipped today. The attractive appearance and waterproofness of these shoes are also provided by waterproofing agents such as Nanoflex THD, Tex2 or L-Care

Effective oxidation protection

Modern satchels are also made of high-quality textile materials. These materials are characterised by their low weight and yet are extremely robust and hard-wearing.
Parents pay more attention to the characteristics of use and also check how easy it is to care for the satchel or school backpack. This is quite justified, because these utensils have to withstand a lot of wear and tear. If the surfaces are carefully impregnated, notebooks and books will still stay dry.

waterproofing en on wood and stone

Natural stones have charm and enjoy great popularity. Unfortunately, the surfaces of natural stones are quickly porous and therefore susceptible to staining. By impregnating, a significant improvement can be achieved. Compared to a complete sealing of the surface, impregnation with Nanoflex AG 1-4 or Nanoflex TPM has the advantage that moisture can be absorbed and released again to a limited extent. This has a positive effect on the room climate.

Whether wooden stairs, benches or garden tables. Penetrating moisture is a major source of danger for wood. Inside, wood swells and cracks can develop. In addition, there is a risk of mould and fungal attack in the long term.

Our services for you

waterproofing is a process in which porous materials are impregnated or coated with a suitable agent. Porous materials that can be impregnated include, for example, textiles, paper, wood, leather, concrete or natural stone. As you can see, it’s about more than just the outdoors. The aim of this treatment is to change the properties of the materials in such a way that they become more water-repellent, last longer and require less maintenance.

Impregnation means profit

What are the advantages of using waterproofing agents to care for and preserve everyday objects?

  • Impregnation means textile finishing. The hydrophobic effect makes you and your clothes weatherproof. The water simply rolls off you
  • Leather stays young longer. The water also flees here and you save expensive creams.
  • Even stones benefit. Impregnated surfaces are immune to weathering and dirt from now on.

These questions are frequently asked on the subject of waterproofing.

Shoes made of suede (colloquially also called suede shoes) look chic and are characterized by a pleasant wearing comfort. In order to maintain the attractive appearance for a long time, this material requires careful care. Never apply shoe cream! A special impregnation spray for suede leather is the best choice. It cares for and impregnates the shoes at the same time.
The term impregnation is used colloquially to describe the application of waterproofing agents to clothing, shoes, tents, convertible roofs or natural stone. The aim of this treatment is to improve the usage properties of the articles. In most cases, sprays or care products are used to make the surface less susceptible to soiling and to repel water.
A waterproofde layer protects textiles, leather or other materials from environmental influences. In this way it is possible to ensure that rainwater rolls off the surface and does not penetrate the textiles or leather. Protection against soiling also plays a role in impregnation for many applications (convertible cars, shoes, tents). Among the more recent developments are highly effective waterproofing agents, with which weatherproof textiles (awnings, sun sails, sunshades and tents) are equipped with UV protection.
Shoes, clothing, tents and other everyday items require regular and good care. This also includes a waterproofing from time to time. However, in order to save costs and time, you should not overdo it. If you are unsure whether an item needs to be waterproofed, do a simple test. Put a drop of water on the material. If the drop rolls off, the surface is still adequately protected.
Be careful with shoes made of patent leather and imitation leather. To be on the safe side, try the waterproofing spray on a small, invisible area of a shoe first.
With Wash-Ins (waterproofing agents, which are put in the washing machine) waterproof you can waterproof a jacket with a minimum of work and time. However, in order not to compromise breathability, it is more advantageous to work with a spray
Drying time depends on the composition and thickness of the application. Most agents feel many modern waterproofing agents contain chains of molecules that align under the influence of heat. If the waterproofde effect wears off after frequent washing of a garment, the protective layer can possibly be reactivated in the tumble dryer or by using an iron or hair dryer because of the effect mentioned above. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s care instructions! After the reactivation attempt, check the repellent effect as described in point 3 of the FAQ.

Common options for protection

Impregnation spray

Spray is most commonly used to maintain and refresh the protective layer. Waterproofing sprays work in principle like other propellant sprays, which have been used for many years in the field of cosmetics or household cleaning, for example. These products have the advantage that they are really uncomplicated to use and the applied waterproofing agents dry very quickly after application. One press on the spray head is sufficient to create a fine mist. When applying, make sure that the waterproofing spray is evenly distributed over the entire surface
